Greetings from winter (in classic fashion, New York has skipped right over another season),
Now that the weather is colder and the days are shorter and sometimes gloomier, my favorite part of the day is settling into bed at night. This moment is all the more sweet because I finally splurged on a set of soft, delicious, linen bedding.
The catch to all this luxury is that I (like most people in this city) don’t have a washer/dryer in my apartment. I also don’t have a laundromat close-by enough for me to comfortably carry two bags of laundry, each stuffed to capacity with sheets (deceptively heavy!).
My sisters who live a 15 minute walk away from me, however, do have an in-unit washer/dryer, and I was determined to live out my fantasy at-home laundry days. So, I created a little system for myself:
*this setup is great, but ultimately a pain in the ass to drag the wagon out of my closet and down my stairs and then fold it back up and lug it back up the stairs and into my apartment at the end of the whole routine. After a couple months with the wagon, I began to dread laundry day and put off washing my sheets for as long as possible (AKA until images of dust mites and dead skin cells flash behind my tired eyelids as I try to fall asleep).
(start time: 5pm. End time 10:15pm)
While young people were enjoying a festive Saturday evening, me and my wagon full of sheets rolled back home.
Stay warm this week! (And if that means staying in bed, you know I approve💗)

Ariella
Linen sheets are so luxe! We opted for traditional cotton futon mattresses when we moved into our apartment and while I love them and the night’s sleep I get, their sheets are the kind that zip on like a hot pocket sleeve if hot pocket sleeves had zippers. I loathe bed laundry day.
the bed illustration! So cozy!!
