happy new year
this is my first time "speaking" it to a human soul because I was in bed at 10:45, asleep at 11:48
Morning all,
I’m back from my un-intended almost month-long holiday break from this newsletter. Hello, how are you? I personally feel OK and only mildly off. We’re still in that liminal new year space so tomorrow is likely when the more nauseating feelings will hit. I’m smart enough to know that everyone has their own version of cold plunge back into real life that emerges around this time. But I’ll share my own because I like to vent here obviously and feel special etc.
I’m starting a new day job Tuesday which has me commuting into an office three days a week. Thrilled to be employed. Mildly terrified by this shift. Scrambling to remember how to wear clothing.
My apartment building is likely being sold this spring. So I am moving. Kind of any day now, really.
There is an upsurge of bird flu cases in the US and its killing cats. Not sure if I’ve detailed my food saga with Fran here, but for the past year I’d been hooked into a raw diet (that made me feel very self-important). Needless to say, that’s been upended. I’ve been walking around my neighborhood talking to myself and researching different food brands (more than likely necessary). This activity of food selection is where I’ve decided to place all of my control issues re the above changes and that’s just something to note. I wonder where I’ll land. Thrilling.
Oh and also I’m writing a book. This is the fun anchor though, and something I really wanted this year. 2.5 rejected proposals later and we did it.
Anyway, all to say, happy new year. A freebie diary comic detailing how I spent mine:
Missed you,

A very happy new year to you, Ariella, it’s always a delight to see you in my inbox ^^ 💕
Ariella, I am just finishing up reading Cheeky! I'm very impressed! What you did in that book is so bold, especially the images. Happy new year, and I hope all goes well in your new job, as well as your anticipated move.
